Exhibitions/Public Collections/Commissions
 Looking at a von Bergen sculpture the viewer understands a number of ideas at once,especially engagement with the physicality of material. His work references the reductive anti-illusionism of modern abstract art,but it also has a history of place and person,the mediating experience of the life identity of the artist, an experiential juxtaposition with the formal.
